Key Features of Brecon Boot Camp:
- Our Staff. Brecon Boot Camp instructional staff are all military fitness professionals and qualified members of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) which means they all:
- meet agreed National Occupational Standards (which describe the knowledge competence and skills of good practice)
- hold recognised and approved qualifications, are
- competent in the work place, are
- committed to maintaining and developing their knowledge and skills through Continuous Professional Development (CPD), are
- legally covered by appropriate insurance and
- follow the REPs Code of Ethical Practice.
- Guest Coaches. All our guest coaches and workshop speakers are qualified professionals in their own field. See individual programmes for details of guest speakers.
- Our Programmes. Whether it’s to improve fitness, lose weight or simply set new personal challenges, we have a range of single days and residential camps including weekend, mid-week and week long camps to kick start your new healthy lifestyle. No matter your age, current fitness levels or physical ability we have something to offer you.
- Our Nutrition. All our courses are supported by healthy eating plans which support the energy demands of your selected course. We do not advocate extreme diet plans that starve you of calories or carbohydrates in the sole pursuit of rapid weight loss.
All our residential Boot Camps* include nutritional workshops to enable you to develop a healthy eating plan that works for you both on camp and after you leave us. Workshops introduce you to:
- basic principles of nutrition and food types
- the link between exercise and energy and nutrient needs
- the role of nutrition in achieving weight loss, supporting training and improving performance in sport
eating strategies that can meet these goals
- enable you to develop a healthy eating plan that works for you.
* The only exception is Brecon Beast due to time constraints and the nature of the course.
- Your Safety. Your health and safety is paramount to us. At all times whilst on camp and during exercise and fitness instruction, you are covered by the following safeguards:
- Fully qualified and competent staff (see above).
- Nutritional programme that supports energy requirements.
- All activities risk-assessed with safety equipment provided where appropriate.
- Business and instructors covered by appropriate insurance.
- Medical plan in the event of accident or injury.
- All instructors first-aid trained.
- Specialist trainers qualified in rehabilitation and remedial fitness.
