Partners, couples and friends, learn how to use the Army’s Buddy System to increase your chances of success and maximise your potential.
Nothing in life worth having comes easy. That includes losing weight and getting fit. If you’ve struggled to get fit, or lost weight and put it back on, you know that already.
Making significant lifestyle changes and learning new behaviours can be a huge step, it may be the most challenging experience you have faced. Even the prospect of a week at Boot Camp can be daunting. Facing such challenges alone can be overwhelming, many give up and revert back to old behaviours. What you need is a buddy.
The activities on Brecon Buddy introduce new ideas for working out together and how to provide each other with mutual support to keep you on track to your goals.
You are more likely to persist with regular training, diet and lifestyle changes if you have the encouragement of a supportive partner to train with than if you are going it alone. Think of your partner as a “Force Multiplier”.
Multi-activity week with an emphasis on medium to high intensity activities interspersed with lower intensity, light or fun periods to aid rest and recovery. Activities depend on duration of camp, time of year and are weather- dependent but will include a combination from the list below:

For couples, partners or friends where at least one or both of you has some experience of exercise* and you both want new challenges.
* If neither of you has any experience of working out, you may both be better off on the Brecon Break-In programme. You can still come as friends or a couple and develop joint goals. All our programmes have elements of working out with partners and our trainers can help you with additional exercises as part of your take-home fitness programme.
